This blended course combines 6 hours of practical training, with 6 hours of interactive e-learning.

The syllabus for the course meets the requirements of OFSTED as stated in DfES guidance (April2017); complying with the framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

To gain full certification for the 12 hour course, students must complete and pass both elements.

Worksafe instructors must only register a student on the Worksafe portal once:

• the learner’s e-learning certificate has been viewed
• the 6 hour classroom session has been attended

 Candidates will receive training in a range of first aid skills including:

• The role of the paediatric first aider
• Primary Assessment
• Infant, child and adult resuscitation (CPR)
• Recovery position and Secondary Survey
• Infant, child and adult choking
• Treatment of anaphylaxis and seizures
• Management of bleeding and shock
• Management of major and minor injuries
• Management of illnesses

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded a qualification for Paediatric First Aid valid for 3 years.
